Food was great. The place is quiet and the ambience is good. I thought the curry was a little too watery for my taste and not as spicy as I thought. There is a lot of parking and I did not make reservations to eat.

Quick service with good food! Although it was more on the pricier side, the Torrance location has Omurice options on their menu which my friends said were delicious! I ordered the American Sliced Beef and added on the raw egg, and I'd have to say it was not heavy at all. Overall I'd rate it 8/10! This location is quite small inside with a big parking lot located next to Nijiya market. They also don't take reservations as I was told. Definitely worth a try, but it may be a special treat once in a while due to its higher price scale for me.

My partner and I were in the area so we thought we'd try Red Rock because we both have been interested in trying. The venue is small so beware that the wait will take some time. We waited for about 45 mins to get seated. If you're not there when they call your name they will prioritize the following party and then call your cellphone. We ended up ordering the American sliced beef don with a raw egg and the tonkatsu omurice with the demiglace sauce and added the salad and soup side. The food was amazing! It's definitely a great delicious meal and the portions were generous. The salad was a bit small and the vegetable soup was mostly broth with onions. The don was fantastic and flavorful and the raw egg added a creaminess. The omurice was delicious, perfectly cooked egg still a little runny and crispy tonkatsu and the ketchup rice were the perfect combo. I'll definitely comeback and glad they just opened a store in aracadia which is closer to me. I highly recommend!

Came here on a whim because the place we wanted to go had a crazy wait. Now, don't get me wrong, this place also has a hefty wait, esp on the weekends. Pretty good food, I think it actually does the Japanese food justice. However, the pricing on this is pretty crazy for the amount of food you get. Now, we can probably argue quality but mmm, can be better. Service is ok. Not much checking in, just kinda here's your food and enjoy. The restaurant is on the smaller side which accounts for the wait. I overheard they don't accommodate bigger parties where they may have to sit separately. Located in a plaza with plenty of parking. I would probably eat here again if someone wanted but wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to get it or crave it.

Finally got the chance to visit red rock after some friends had glowing recommendations for the Beef Don. Red Rock is a western style Japanese Restaurant located in Torrance, mostly known for its signature dish he American Slice Beef Don. A 'volcano' of medium-rare beef topped with an egg yolk over a bowl of rice. I visited on a Saturday morning and arrived at the restaurant a little before opening. There is a fairly large parking lot so finding a spot was not difficult. There were a few parties of people lining up before opening, but there was not a very long queue. My girlfriend and I were seated right away when doors opened, and we kind of already had an idea of what we wanted to order. The American beef don and the omurice. Both dishes were very visually pleasing, and tasted great. I especially loved the presentation of the beef don, and puncturing the yolk to watch it flow down the beef was a great photo moment. My dining experience was overall very positive, I was happy with the service and food. I'll be coming back to try their other dishes in the future.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 This was my very first time having beef don, and it was AMAZING. Friends from out of town took my husband and me to dinner here, and we both ordered the American Sliced Beef Don, since that was the most popular option. Husband ordered the large while I ordered the medium, and my only regret is that I didn't order the large as well. The beef simply melts in your mouth, and the rice is perfectly cooked and warm. I cannot describe how incredible that first bite is. The white sauce and egg yolk add dimensions to the taste and texture of the dish. Friends also ordered the beef and potato croquettes for the table, and they were delightfully crispy on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. Would come here again (and order the large don this time)!

I saw a lot of hype for this place online and the food looked so good so I had to try this place! Inside it's a small homey restaurant with a casual ambiance. I ordered the roasted beef don and omurice with hamburg steak and demiglace sauce. I really enjoyed both! The roasted beef don has thin slices of rare beef with a creamy sauce. The beef does have some chew but that didn't bother me. The dish is missing some acidity/spice so the flavor wasn't that complex, but still a comforting bowl of beef and rice that I enjoyed. The omurice was also excellent! The hamburg steak was so juicy and tender. It's more like a large meatball than a hamburger if I had to describe its texture, I'm pretty sure there was onions mixed into the ground beef. And the demiglace sauce was so rich and delicious. This is a very heavy dish and large portioned. Overall, the food was great but I thought quite expensive for what it was. The dishes here are unique so there's not really any cheaper options anyway if you were craving this specific type of beef don or omurice so I would return!

Tasty and there was no wait on a weeknight dinner. The omurice with garlic rice was my favorite, I think swapping the rice from tomato or garlic was a good move- it was so tasty! Prices on a bit of the higher end but you definitely taste the quality.

Delicious beef bowls and Japanese style meat dishes are part of what this steakhouse based in Japan offers. The restaurant is small and also offers some bar style seating near the door. My goal was to try their "viral" American Sliced Beef Don as seen on Instagram! An Instagram logo was besides the picture on the menu to also indicate the popularity of it. Their ranked most popular bowls are: 1.) American Sliced Beef Don 2.) Cut Steak Don 3.) Rib Eye Steak Don. Thin slices of beef were piled atop a bed of white rice and a stream of cream sauce was poured on the side, kinda resembling a waterfall presentation to me! The bowl does not come with an egg yolk as you have to order it separately. The egg yolk is a Jidori raw egg yolk, and I wanted to add it to mix in my rice. A mild brown sauce was mixed with the rice and tasted great with the American beef. Although tender, the slices of beef were large, and I would have preferred shorter cuts. I ordered a Regular sized bowl, as it was a fair portion, but could have eaten a Large if I was really hungry! Red Rock is great for getting that protein and enjoying delicious style steak-don as I have not had this sort of style Japanese cuisine before. I think their selection of meats is prime and of high quality here and I'd love to try their other items that didn't go viral but are more premium!
